Weekly Finesse No 2

As one Northern DJ regularly claims in his weekly podcast, “Back once again like a renegade master!“.

Here are this week’s musical highlights in the second Weekly Finesse (week ending Saturday 22nd October 2011).

Shirley Jones & Jean Carne – Whatever it Takes (Joey Negro Club Mix) [Expansion Records]

To commemorate 25 years of Expansion Records, Joey Negro has put his trademark style over this beautifully crafted soul number featuring Shirley Jones – one of Diana Ross’ original backing singers – and Jean Carne – another music legend who recorded the disco classic “Was That All It Was”. Talk about a dream team!

Also available on Amazon and iTunes.

Breakbot ft Ruckazoid – Fantasy [Because Music]

Love this “nu disco” track doing the rounds at the moment. It’s got a great uplifting vibe about it with a true French disco sound. Definitely one to listen out for.

Louis La Roche – Gimme Gimme [Ever After Recordings]

First single taken from the forthcoming debut album ‘Hello You’. Double A-Side single ‘Gimme Gimme/The Wall’ released October 3rd (advanced Beatport release 19th September)

Asle – Thank You (Soulmagic Remix) [Disco:Wax]

This is becoming a firm favourite of mine for 2011. The original mix is a fantastic dark and deep track but, obviously, I’m a sucker for a bit of soulful house so the Soulmagic remix is getting more airtime from me. Great track!

Also available on Amazon and Traxsource.
